Can a Paper Towel Holder Change Your Life?

The tricky parts of life demand both hands —  diapering a baby, riding a motorcycle, making a cat’s cradle — and, until recently, that included grabbing a paper towel.  Sure you can try ripping off just one paper towel with one hand — and who hasn’t — but the result is a wad of wasted paper towels. Science has yet to prove this, but one-handed operation of the typical paper towel holder wastes between four and 20 paper towels. Now an amazing invention, the  Perfect Tear Chrome Paper Towel Holder, Horizontal Wall-Mounted has changed life as we know it.

Paper Towel Holder of the Future
The Perfect Tear’s ingenious ratchet design creates just enough tension to let you tear off a single paper towel with just one hand. What you do with the other hand is your business!
There are other styles, but I have this one, love it, and recommend with enthusiasm.
Con: You have to install the paper towel holder on a wall in a strategic location. Make sure you have space on your wall. Attachment requires a couple of wall anchors like this one

It’s a piece of cake with drywall anchors, which hold more weight than you will ever need unless you plan to swing from your paper towel holder, in which case you may have issues and other kitchen tool needs.

How do I use drywall anchors?

After marking where the screws go, use a power drill to screw in a couple of self drilling drywall anchors. Tip: Stop drilling just before the head is flush with the wall.  If you screw it in little too far, don’t sweat it, but you don’t want to strip out the hole.
Once the anchors are in screw the paper towel holder on.  Since each drywall anchor holds 50 pounds, you can use even the thickest, premium paper towels and still have 99 pounds of support left over!
